Glasgow Games Gathering 2019

29th June, 10am to 4pm

Admission

£3 adults, £1 under 16’s (accompanied by adult)

The overdue return of a gaming

show to Glasgow

Glasgow    has    been    left    languishing    for    too    long    without    a tabletop   gaming   show   of   her   own,   we’re   hoping   to   change   this in 2019 with our first foray into organising a gaming show. 2019   will   also   mark   the   club’s   20th   anniversary,   so   what   better way to celebrate this than with  a show? The   location   for   the   show   is   the   very   capable   ‘Glasgow   Club Bellahouston’,    situated    a    few    minutes    drive    off    the    M8    at Junction 24. Host   to   record   faires,   scale   model   shows   and   antique   faires we’re   confident   the   venue   will   be   able   to   accommodate   the Glasgow Games Gathering 2019.

Frequently Asked Questions:

We’ll add to this as we get asked, please feel free to ask us about the show. If you do have any questions in the lead up to the show, please don’t hesitate to drop us a message via the Contact Form, or any of our Social Media channels, links at the bottom of the page.

What can I expect at the show?

We’re    anticipating    a    show    in    a    similar    vein    to    the    other Scottish    shows,    traders    with    their    stands,    clubs    running participation   games   and   possibly   companies   running   come- and-try games of their own design. There    will    be    a    raffle,    and    we’re    going    to    try    out    an achievements   card   on   the   day   for   giveaways   as   well.   Take part   in   games   and   make   purchases   from   traders   to   collect stickers   on   your   card.   Pop   a   completed   card   in   the   box   and you’ll   go   into   the   draw   for   credit   from   any   of   the   traders present on the day!

When is the show?

The show will be held on the 29th June 2019, from 10am to 4pm.

How do I get to the show by public

transport?

You can reach the Glasgow Life Bellahouston venue via bus. Paisley Road West is well served by buses in both directions to and from the City Centre. From the bus stop it is a few minutes walk to the venue. By train, the closest stations are either Cardonald on the Gourock/Weymss Bay line (1.2km), or Corkerhill on the Paisley Canal line (1.15km). Probably best to take a taxi from the station to the venue.

How do I get to the show by car/bike?

The Glasgow Life venue at Bellahouston is mere minutes off the M8 at Junction 24. We’ve had a shot at video showing how to get to the venue from the West on the M8; we’ll get one for from the East M8 and East M74.

What facilities does the venue have?

Being a Glasgow Life venue, the Bellahouston site has accessible toilets, assistance dogs are welcome, there is wheelchair access, baby changing facilities, baby feeding is welcomed, a cafe, cloakroom and free wifi.

What’s the parking like?

The Bellahouston site has free parking for approximately 190 cars, with an additional 8 bays for blue badge holders, and 3 bays for electric vehicles. That said, it can get very busy with cars abandoned anywhere. There is plenty of on-street parking on the streets just outside the venue.

Will there be an Open Gaming Area?

It’s something we’d love to do, however we just don’t have the space this year at the venue. Perhaps in future years we can manage this.

Will there be a bring & buy or flea market area?

Again, it’s something we’d love to do and it was on our radar, but space restrictions meant we had to leave it out for now.

Does the venue have cash machines on site?

The venue does not have cash machines on site. If coming by road, we recommend popping into the ASDA store at Junction 24. If coming by public transport via city centre, load up there! Many of the traders will have electronic PoS terminals so card payments should be accepted. Please check with trader before making a purchase.

I need help, what can I do?

We have volunteers walking the show floor during the day, look for the hi-viz vests with G3 Staff on the back. Alternatively, check in with the front desk, either ours or the centre itself and we’ll do our best to help.
